A Message from Skills President/CEO

President/CEO Mike Rice Mike Rice, Ph.D., President and CEO

When I joined Skills of Central Pennsylvania in the late summer of 2000, I quickly learned just how large and diverse the organization was and how influential and vital the services Skills provides throughout central Pennsylvania are.

Our roots may be in providing services for individuals with intellectual disabilities throughout the 16 counties we serve, but Skills continues to expand services for individuals recovering from mental illness as well.

The opportunities for continued growth arise from our dedicated, motivated staff — staff who are not afraid to step away from what has always been done and do something new to benefit further the individuals we serve.  Our staff members know that with proper training, new opportunities and experiences, they can achieve anything in providing their collective services to others.

For these reasons, I am so fortunate to be able to work with this organization. Together, Skills will continue to move forward and meet whatever challenges may be thrown our way.

I look forward to each opportunity that makes it possible for Skills to continue to grow and expand, while maintaining and enhancing the quality services that have been part of our tradition and culture for over fifty years.
