New Water Feature at Discovery Garden
New Water Feature at Discovery Garden courtesy of Tussey Landscaping
Tussey Landscaping generously donated and installed a water feature to enhance the community garden.
This water feature will be dedicated as a memorial to Bob Crum, Jackie Crust, and Andrea Eckenrod later this summer. All three of these people dedicated their lives to helping people with disabilities and worked at Skills of Central PA for many years.
Please stay in touch for more information about the upcoming dedication ceremony.
Thank You, Spring Cleanup Volunteers!
Volunteers from Leadership Blair County Class of 2012: Maria Preusser (The Hite Company), Jessie Aucker (Leonard S. Fiore, Inc.), and Jamie Miller (Advantage Resource Group)
Three members of Leadership Blair County graduating class of 2012 spent a morning volunteering at Discovery Garden on Thursday, May 3rd to complete their mini-project.
They worked with other volunteers on spring clean up and weeding at the garden.
A big thanks goes out to all of the garden volunteers who have been coming out and working for many years and to the new volunteers that just started.
Your dedication and help brings out the true beauty of the Garden.
2012 Discovery Garden Planting Days: May 21 – 25
Local elementary school children plant annuals during Discovery Garden’s Planting Days.Participating Blair County Elementary school students who spending a day at the Discovery Garden with their school get a tour of the garden to learn about different kinds of plants. Each child who visits gets to plant a flower in the garden themselves as part of this activity. Many children revisit the garden later in the summer to see how beautifully their plant grew.
The Discovery Garden is a multigenerational community project. For more information, contact Lori Lange at llange@skillsgroup.org or 814-238-3245 ext 321.
