Individuals with disabilities will find a safe, caring residential environment that they can call home. In 1997, Skills assumed responsibility for the Housing Support Funding Program previously administered by the Blair County Office of Mental Health. |
Community Homes |
Support in Private, Residential Settings Providing people with developmental disabilities support and supervision in private, residential settings. Consumers may choose to live in modern, attractive homes designed and built for accessibility. Our consumers enjoy the privacy of their own individual rooms decorated in colors and styles they select. Consumers enjoy the comfort of living in a beautiful home complete with modern, fully-equipped kitchens, beautifully furnished living, dining rooms, bedrooms, and sparkling bathrooms. All the benefits of home are theirs to be enjoyed. Homes are also available for retirement, or for those who are medically fragile. Additionally, a team of dedicated professionals are available 24 hours a day, if necessary. Residential services staff help consumers to participate more fully in all aspects of community living and to obtain the highest level of independence. |
In-Home Support |
For Those Who Want to Stay at Home with Their Family Allows consumers to stay at home with their families while learning how to improve daily living skills, including: developing relationships; gaining access to community resources; and setting and pursuing personal goals. |
