Skills Employment Services (SES)

A central effort to the Mission of Skills is helping individuals attain community based employment.

In a true partnership with local business and industry, Skills Employment Services seeks to foster career development for individuals by placing them in positions where their work meets employers' needs and contributes to company goals.
Through hard work and diligence, individuals are able to achieve professional success and build long-lasting ties and relationships within the community. Furthermore, and perhaps most importantly. individuals become more and more self-sufficient: this is vital not only to the individual but also to the community as a whole.

By matching employers' needs, as they exist now, to individual abilities. Skills Employment Services Division strives to place the right person into the right job. This "match" leads to increased retention of employees and reduces costs associated with frequent employee turnover.
Employers may be eligible for WOTC tax credits; Skills Employment Services will provide consultation on how to take advantage of these benefits.
Through Skills Employment Services Division, employers gain access to a new and steady labor force. Locally, it has become more and more necessary for business and industry to utilize alternative labor pools, and Skills of Central PA, Inc. would like to help you with your staffing needs.

 
How Skills Employment Services Work

Individuals' vocational aptitudes, abilities and career goals and interests are assessed first. Based on this information, job searches are then conducted by Skills' Employment Specialists to best match employer's needs.
After a match has been made, Skills' Employment Services will offer the following services, at no cost to the employer:

Direct Training
At the employer's discretion, a Skills Employment Specialists can be made available to directly train a new hire on all aspects of the job. Working side-by-side with the Employment SPecialist, the employee will quickly develop the skills necessary to perform the job tasks quickly and completely. With this service, a business can greatly reduce costs incurred during the training period.
Follow up
this service is conducted on either a monthly, quarterly or as needed basis; and, for most people, this is a continual and on-going service.
